Please come along …

Tales of the DeCongested Evening at Cella, the Sanctuary venue – 10 July 2006, 7.30 pm

Sussex and London writers including Kate Ansell, Frank Goodman, Frances McCallum, Justine Mann and yours truly will present their work, which features in an anthology of the best short stories performed at Tales of the DeCongested’s live monthly event in London. Now you can enjoy stories from the anthology being read by their authors during an evening at one of Brighton’s most intimate venues; The Cella, where – in addition to superlative fiction, you have the luxury of a fully licensed bar and, upstairs, The Sanctuary Café’s renowned vegetarian cuisine. Those of you who came to the NaNoWriMo Thank God It’s All Over in 2004 will remember just how good the food is!

Founded by Paul Blaney and Rebekah Lattin-Rawstrone, the mission of Tales of the DeCongested has been to raise the profile of the short story and to provide a platform for new writing. The Tales of the DeCongested anthology, edited by the founders, features the best work from over two years of successful readings, plus original stories from Ali Smith and Nicholas Royle. The anthology also launches Apis Books as a publishing company that will promote new talent in short fiction. Recordings of the authors performing their short stories will be available to download after the launch at www.apisbooks.com.

To enjoy an evening with some of the South’s hottest literary talents, you can obtain tickets (cost £3.00 or £2.50 concessions) from The Cella or pay on the door on the night.

The anthology can be obtained from City Books on Western Road, Brighton from 1 July 2006 or from Amazon.co.uk

To get tickets in advance, contact The Cella, 51-55 Brunswick St. East, Hove, East Sussex, BN3, 01273 770 006 or cella@sanctuarycafe.co.uk
