Quickies

Yesterday afternoon I had an idea for an article – just a tiny one, around 700 words, about breaking into a certain magazine market. The reason it occured to me was that I was filing all my last year’s queries, and spotted a pattern to the acceptances that I hadn’t recognised before. Hmm, I thought, I’ll bet other writers would like to know about that.

So … I wrote a query by email, the editor in question was interested and emailed me back, it took about forty-five minutes to write the whole piece and check the links to potential markets, and this morning I got $35 by paypal for it.

I love it when a plan comes together!
