“We interrupt this broadcast …
to promote ourselves to you.”
So I’ve put together a course that explains how to boost your income in troubled financial times, including ten sure-fire ways to make money from your writing skills in the short term. It also aims to help you prepare for economic recovery including such subjects as: winning friends within the industry, gaining stability for your writing career and how to achieve long terms goals.
I am truly excited about teaching this one, as it combines a number of practical lessons I’ve learned over the years, with some equally practical exercises that – I hope – introduce skills that other writing courses just don’t touch on, like how to pitch your work to an agent, for example.
And of course you know all about me by now, but in case you’ve forgotten: Kay Sexton’s fiction has been chosen for over twenty anthologies and she blogs regularly on environmental issues as well as writing for Green Futures, Jonathan Porrit’s award-winning magazine. In 2008, she was commissioned to write a short story for national radio, a finalist in the Willesden Herald fiction contest judged by Zadie Smith, and a finalist in the Glimmertrain Family Matters contest, and won the Fort William Festival Contest. Her unpublished novel, GATEKEEPER, is shortlisted for the Dundee International Book Prize and she is working on a second novel about pornography and rivers in 1920s Hampshire.
