SODA …

soda19A wise man once taught me that Structure, Order, Discipline and Accountability  (SODA) would help me in every area of life. He was right. I am a terminal procrastinator (although the past 3 months have been given over to a substantial reworking of a novel in line with my agent’s comments so I’m terminal, not total!) and now I’m going to make myself accountable for reviewing the books I’ve read but not yet posted about which are:

1. Harraga by Boualem Sansal

2. The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri

3. The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber.

So there – bite me if I don’t review!

Also, I have a new literary crush, namely Louisa Young, whom I have only seen on-stage, never read a word of, but found to be sharp, warm, funny and a wonderful impromptu singer (unless you were at the Royal Literary Society Write London event yesterday you won’t know what that means and I’m not going to tell you) so I’m looking forward to seeing if her writing matches up to her person.
